Did you ever wonder what San Francisco commercial real estate market look like in terms of dollar and sense? An article in SF Chronicle provided some interesting data points.

The story was about commercial real estate investor Mark Karasick's attemp to get a little quick profit from flipping the landmark Bank of America building in San Francisco.

A real estate investor group led by Mark Karasick reportedly bought the BofA tower for about between $800 to $900 million in two separate transactions in 2004. The tower is now put on the market for $1.25 billion. The price tag translates to about $694 per square foot, which is a lot higher than the on-going price of about $300 for Class A office building in SF.

The BofA tower, however, does command a premium on the rental price over other Class A office building (about $10 per square foot). For the middle and upper floors, the BofA rental is about $50 and up.
